Thermodynamic Database for Phase Diagram Analysis in Solder Alloy "ADAMIS"**
(Alloy DAtabase for MIcro-Solders)
Dr ISHIDA Kiyohito, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, developed a database based on thermodynamics for simulation of physicochemical properties of alloys with designated metal composition. This database was transferred to Material Design Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT) in Japan, and the software based on such database was developed as “ADAMIS” and is now commercially available from MDT. ADAMIS supports the numerical analysis of solder alloys with every possible combination and ratio of metals selected from 8 elements such as Ag, Bi, Cu, In, Pb, Sb, Sn and Zn, and visually provides the results such as phase diagram and isothermal/vertical section. ADAMIS is an OS/computer-independent software, and may contribute to develop lead (Pb)-free solder alloy which is expected to be harmless to people and natural environment.
